ACE Grant
Everything we do aims to build a culture of health and safety across Montana. And one way we recognize Montanans who are building this culture of safety is through our ACE program. ACE grants reward deserving Montana non-profits that promote safe workplaces and enhance the quality of life in their local communities.
If you have questions contact Rita Naylor at rnaylor@mt.gov or 406-495-5292.
The program you're proposing for an ACE Grant must fit within the scope of Montana State Fund's normal business and operations:
- Will be used to promote workplace safety, host safety trainings, or assist with the purchase of equipment that enhances safety and community well-being.
- The program will result in a widespread benefit for a Montana community or the state as a whole.
- The program benefits a representative cross section of small and large communities across Montana.
- The program will have the potential to result in positive public communication about MSF and the ACE Grant Program.
- The minimum grant will be $250.
- All grants require matching funds.
All cash grants awarded will require a dollar-for-dollar match.
Any organization applying for a grant from the MSF ACE program must be a Montana based nonprofit organization and have a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Funds will only be disbursed after verification of match and tax-exempt status.
The applying organization must include the total cost of the project or program in its request.
The ACE Committee may partially fund a grant request based on a review and assessment of the request and application.
The ACE Committee may consider previously awarded grants when determining eligibility for a new award to ensure a representative cross section of small and large communities across Montana are awarded grants.
The ACE Committee must review all advertising before an event for which a grant is awarded, and the sponsoring organization must give Montana State Fund the opportunity to use its logo for the event for advertising purposes.
The ACE Committee has the discretion to award or deny grants based on those that best fit MSF policies.
Grants will not be awarded to individuals, policital, labor, fraternity organization, sports activities or for courtesy advertising purposes.
Grant applications from organizations with a religious connection may be funded if the grant will be used for a secular rather than religious function.
The ACE Committee may also award in-kind grants in the form of MSF-branded personal protective equipment ("PPE") and related items such as first aid kits, emergency kits, lighting, etc.
- Applications received January - March will be reviewed at the April Committee Meeting.
- Applications received April - June will be reviewed at the July Committee Meeting.
- Applications received July - September will be reviewed at the October Committee Meeting.
- Applications received October - December will be reviewed at the January Committee Meeting.
