Montana State Fund is committed to the safety of Montana's future workforce. The Growing a Safer Montana High School Safety Equipment Grants are for Montana high school students in the construction trade and industry classrooms.

Eligibility: Targeted Montana construction trades (welding, carpentry and automotive tech) and industry high school teachers are eligible to apply. (Multiple classrooms at one high school are eligible. Each individual classroom and teacher must apply for their own grant.)

The PPE may include welding helmets, welding gloves, leather or rubber work gloves, safety glasses, ear muffs, ear plugs with dispenser, safety goggles, flame resistant clothing, high visibility vests and hardhats, etc. A list of items will be supplied to the teachers who are awarded the grants. NEW THIS YEAR: Teachers may elect to use all or a portion of their grant money to purchase equipment, tools, specific PPE, machine guards, etc. to make their classrooms safer. (This is just something to keep in mind should you be awarded the grant.)
