Construction Trade Scholarship

Montana State Fund is committed to the safety of Montana's workforce. This scholarship is for Industrial Construction Trade students with high academic credentials and a demonstrated desire to champion safety as they move into their professional endeavors.

Eligibility: Students with at least one semester (12 credit hours) of coursework completed and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Only students from the following programs are eligible.

  • Bitterroot College - Welding Technician Program
  • Flathead Valley CC (Associate Degree Trade Programs) - Advanced Manufacturing, Electrical Technology, Electronics Technician, Industrial Machine Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Welding and Fabrication Technology, and Welding and Inspection Technology
  • Gallatin College - Welding
  • Great Falls College MSU - Welding Technology and Fabrication, Welding Technology and Fabrication CAS & AAS
  • Helena College - Welding
  • Highlands College - Carpentry and Welding
  • MSU Northern - Automotive and Trades, Plumbing Technology, Welding Technology
  • University of Montana - Welding Technology A.A.S.
  • UM Bitterroot - Carpentry

Application Requirements: Application includes:

  • A 1-2 page cover letter describing the importance of safety specific to your desired industry and how you plan to champion safety in the future.
  • Two letters of recommendation (one academic).

Other Requirements: Recipients of the scholarship must submit an unofficial transcript to confirm 3.0 GPA and 12 credit hours of coursework.

Award: A sum of up to $4,000 is awarded toward the cost of tuition. Recipients will receive two equal scholarship amounts.

Deadline: Applications will be accepted in the fall of 2020.
